Career Fair Booth Accidentally Recruits 6 Students Into Navy
Memorial High’s Career Fair took a dramatic turn Thursday when a group of students, lured by free pens and anchor-shaped lollipops, accidentally enlisted in the U.S. Navy. “We thought it was a cosplay club,” said junior Trevor D., now technically a Petty Officer Third Class.
The Navy rep, who claimed he just “really liked talking about boats,” denies coercion. “They said they liked discipline, uniforms, and yelling. What was I supposed to do–stop them?”
The students are being held temporarily at a local recruitment center where they’re reportedly enjoying free Wi-Fi and uniforms that “slap.” The school has promised clearer labeling for next year’s career fair, especially booths with flags and battleship models.
