Football Huddle Podcast Debuts, Players Spill Locker-Room Secrets
Memorial High’s varsity football team this week launched “Huddle Up,” a weekly podcast recorded live from the locker room–where coaches and players candidly discuss play calls, cafeteria slop, and whether Coach Ramirez really wears fairy wings under his whistle lanyard.
The debut episode went viral after center Alex T. revealed his superstition: he must eat exactly seven gummy bears before each home game. Defensive end Simone P. confessed she writes haiku to the line judge. One episode’s outtakes feature Coach Ramirez improvising motivational raps about cleat maintenance.
Critics call it “unfiltered teen sports radio,” while the Journalism Club nominates it for Best New Campus Media. And yes, Alex’s gummy-bear ritual has been officially adopted by the entire offensive line.
