Senior Trip to State Fair Canceled After Livestock Stampede
What should have been the highlight of the yearend festivities–a bus trip to the state fair–ended abruptly when a pen of escape-artist goats broke free, sprinted through the midway, and spooked the Ferris wheel operators into an emergency shutdown.
Senior class president Maya J. reported, “We rode the bumper cars instead and formed a goat-control coalition with carnival workers.” The fair’s goat herder demanded additional goat-proof fencing before letting Mavericks back in–leading to the trip’s cancellation for the remainder of the day.
Refunds are being issued, and the PTA is now vetting any future field trips for “No Farm Animals on the Loose” clauses. Seniors are left to console themselves with extra-credit livestock essays.
