Memorial High School’s Yearbook Photos Accidentally Taken at a Funeral Home
In what students are calling “the most on-brand mistake possible for Memorial High,” this year’s yearbook portraits were mistakenly shot at Thompson & Sons Funeral Home’s “Eternal Rest” package backdrop. The somber mahogany backgrounds and tasteful floral arrangements lent an unintentionally poignant air to class photos, with several students appearing to float eerily in the dim lighting. The photography company blamed a scheduling mix-up, though the mortuary staff reported being oddly moved by the cheerleading squad’s pyramid formation next to a casket display. Surprisingly, the gothic aesthetic has proven popular, with the yearbook committee now considering making it their official theme: “Memorial High: Where Futures Go to Die.”
