Memorial High School’s Study Hall Now Offers Nap Time Credits
In a revolutionary policy change, Memorial High has begun awarding academic credits for strategic napping during study periods. “Our sleep research shows students retain 0% of information when unconscious from exhaustion,” explained Principal Hendricks while adjusting his “I Paused My Brain” office hammock. The new Nap Tracking System logs REM cycles via Fitbits the school confiscated during last year’s “No Wearable Tech” policy.
Students can now substitute one study hall per week for a Certified Power Nap Session in the newly converted “Slumberdome” (formerly the library quiet room). The ambitious “40 Winks AP” program even offers college credit through a partnership with Sleep State University. Critics argue the policy encourages laziness, but as junior Mark Wei demonstrated during his snore-based history presentation on Rip Van Winkle, the educational benefits speak for themselves.
